Getting ready for your first session
Bring a question and something you’d like to try. You can leave the perfect plan at home.
You don’t have to arrive knowing the right terminology, the best AI tool, or exactly what you want to build. Your first session starts with where you are now.
A little preparation can help us spend more of our time practicing together. Here are a few useful things to have in mind.
Pick one thing that matters to you
Think of a task you’d like to make easier or an idea you’re curious about. It could be organizing your week, writing a customer reply, or understanding how AI might help with a recurring part of your work. One clear example gives us somewhere useful to begin.
Bring the basics
Personal and business sessions happen online. A laptop or desktop and a reliable internet connection make it easier to work through the steps yourself. If you already use an AI assistant, have it ready to open.
- A question or task you want to explore.
- A computer you’re comfortable using and a reliable connection.
- Any useful example, with private or identifying information removed.
You don’t need a paid AI subscription
Free accounts are fine for getting started. If you haven’t chosen a tool yet, that’s something we can talk through. There’s no need to buy a subscription just to prepare for coaching.
The welcome call comes first
Personal and business coaching begin with a separate 15-minute welcome call with me, Colton. We’ll talk about your goals, your comfort level, and any setup questions before your full 60-minute coaching session. The welcome call doesn’t take time away from that hour.
Come ready to try, not to perform
You’ll be the one trying the steps, with patient help along the way. Questions, wrong turns, and asking to see something again are all part of learning. We’re aiming for a useful skill you can practice afterward, at your own pace.
Curious where to begin?
Bring a question. We’ll find a good place to start together.
